If i had to do it all again? Convert a points car to electronic? Stock motor? Pertronix and a good coil. Catches all of the low-hanging fruit and no connectors to buy, boxes to find and worry about, etc. $100 and youre done. scrounge a tfi coil from the junkyard if youre cheap. and the old used points in the glove box would get out out of a bind on a long trip. New electronic technology is 10000% better than the old. Zero contest here. I use these five-legged chips (VN920 and similar) that with zero added components, drive 30 amp inductive loads off a microprocessor and dont even get warm. Costs $5. 10 years ago, a whole pile of components and careful design and trickery. Today, i hand them out to students to drive motors with no explanation (which is sad, in a way). -- All of your arguments are invalid. Enjoy your unstable system. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
