Yeah, if the 1.9L was a trubo diesel it might be okay, as it was the 2.0L with a four speed was just adequate fro a car the size and weight of a Gremlin. I've seen one in a Concord with auto trans -- must have been a real slug! Had 3.58 gears, I think, so might have been okay around town, but wouldn't want to get it on the highway! Sort of like my old 1.7L Alliance with auto trans...The 2.0L didn't use an SR-4, it used an HR-1. I think it's a BW trans, but the case is different than the SR-4, so it's not just a lighter version. There are some internal differences in the TSM break-down, though they are similar.
