The lefthand threads are on the bolts that hold the t-g carrier together, all 390's had this feature. Lefthand counteracts extreme torque. The extra steel spacer loads the Beauville spring (as you know t-g doesn't have coil springs). Very effective and the only easy way to preload it. The Beauville spring is not strong enough to keep the clutches from burning in a high torque application (and they need to go around corners on the street!). BTW, The car is an NHRA Legal E/Stocker, same combo as Jeff Lee's former recordholder. Any other questions feel free to ask.
