I would opt for the port. As Frank said it is a very minimal player in horsepower, but a big player in driveability should you ever want to drive in chilly weather. I'd keep the non crossover heads to track only use, or port injection engines. No need for that port with port injectors. TBI injection or carbs will see better warmup and driveability. That being said personal experience with AMC engines without crossovers may prove it is not a big deal. I have not evey had much epxerience with hotrodded AMC v8's.
