That's what I thought. I did not notice any noise reduction in the garage doors when I installed it. not that I looked for any! I'm only interested in noise reduction in the American, so I'll probaby go with ice dam type material and bedliner. I noticed Fatmat has a Butyl based product out now. I'm thinking I'll go with the cheaper grade stuff on the floors and the butyl grade where it can get hot and fall off or melt. If you think about it the butyl is the same stuff you glue a windshield in with. You don't see windshields falling out when it get sto hot!
