Re: [Amc-list] Sound mats and belts.

I know I'm getting in a little late on this conversation, but I hope not too
late.
Have you guys who are planning to use ice dam underlayment products seen
what a mess some of the poorer quality ice dam products make of a roof when
everything goo's together?
Has any one asked if these products might ooze adhesives or something?
Don't most asphalt products tend to run and goo around when hot??
Not trying to dissuade any one on using these products, I just wanted to add
a few thoughts of what to watch out for.
The big thing I don;t like about them is the weight they add. Some of the
bubble products are much lighter.
Bubble packaging may not be such a good thing, it probably will deteriorate
over time. Bubble insulation for under concrete floors
where in floor tube heat is being installed might be a great solution too.
just some thoughts,
Armand

insulation mat. It's designed for sealing around doors and windows and comes
in 6", 12", 16", and 24" widths. It's very similar to Dynamat but at a much
lower cost. I don't think Lowe's or Home Depot has it, but a local building
supply does. Can't recall the name of it, but a local rod shop has been
using it for years.
