Go to the local building supply and look for an asphalt based self stick insulation mat. It's designed for sealing around doors and windows and comes in 6", 12", 16", and 24" widths. It's very similar to Dynamat but at a much lower cost. I don't think Lowe's or Home Depot has it, but a local building supply does. Can't recall the name of it, but a local rod shop has been using it for years. http://www.julianos.com/catalog.html for seat belts. Check out there "how to" section to see how they did things. I installed a set of S-10 Blazer front shoulder belts in my car, but just put a bolt through the B pillar to anchor the top. You can see the bolt head when the door is open, but not when closed, so I don't care. Won't work like that on a two door though! You'll have to weld in an upper anchor plate. Julianos shows doing that on several older cars. ------------ Date: Wed, 29 Oct 2008 17:48:55 +0000 From: Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx I have bought new carpet for the American and want to put a layer of sound deadener type material on the floor before installing it. Anyone have any suggestions as to what product gives the best bang, or rather lack of bang! for the buck? Dynomat is about the most expensive I see. There is also a material called Fatmat [or is it Fatmax] anyway, I'm leaning to the Fatmat product. 100 sqft is $130 total. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
