I'm looking to swap out my Spirit's rear axle for a Cherokee one. (I know it's 2" wider) I need to keep my car in functioning condition and the current diff is nearly fried. I plan to pull the D35/M15 and swap in the slightly wider diff so I can have the old diff out to work on. To handle the differnt width I'm planning on using FWD offset rims from a Chrysler Le Baron (if they will fit. I've been offered 4 nice alloys with good snow tires) Waiting to hear back what year they are as I know early ones (mid '80s) were 5 bolt metric pattern and won't fit. Not sure on the center hole yet. If I was going to run the same rims on the front, I could use the 1 1/2" wheel spacers I bought for my Cherokee (they bolt on the wheel studs and have their own studs to bolt the rims onto) That will keep the wheel tracking the same. While the original diff is out, it will get 3.08 gears (in anticipation of the AW4 I have to put in later) and new bearings. _________________________________________________________________ Stay up to date on your PC, the Web, and your mobile phone with Windows Live. http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/msnnkwxp1020093185mrt/direct/01/ _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
