Call me anal, but to protect the hard to replace mechanisms in my 70 Javelin windows I always pull up on the window when I'm closing them and push down on the window when I'm opening them. relieves the stress on the window crank lever too. For years I've been thinking about a system to make power windows for our cars using the nylon looking gear strips and motors from Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth mini vans. There's millions and millions of these that the passenger side probably has had little use and could be salvaged for almost nothing if I could just come up with an easy install. One other thing I have found is to use silicone spray to lube the channel in the fuzzes. I been doing that for over 30 years. It helps take the strain off the gears in the regulator when you roll the window up and down Also check the window adjustment. > "Doc" > > > > > > > > > > > > > -------------- next part -------------- > An HTML attachment was scrubbed... > URL: http://splatter.wps.com/pipermail/amc-list/attachments/20080718/ef072186/attachment.htm > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.524 / Virus Database: 270.5.0/1558 - Release Date: 7/17/08 9:56 AM > > _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
