I have a customer who has a set of completely rebuilt 1970 51cc 391 heads of a Rebel Machine engine that are new in every aspect except the head castings them-self he wants to sell in order to purchase a set of Indy heads. Here is what he has: New parts: 2.02 stainless steel swirl polished intake valves 1.65 stainless steel swirl polished exhaust valves Viton PC seals Bronze guide liners Hyd roller double valve springs with vibration dampeners Valve shims Chrome Molly hardened retainers Chrome Molly hardened locks Hardened valve seats Brass freeze plugs ARP rocker studs Machine work: Hot tanked and ball blasted Heads machined for PC seals Machined for double springs Hardened seats installed 3 angle valve job Guides machined for bronze liners Bronze guide liners hone finished Spring height and tension set for hyd roller cam or solid flat tappet (can be easily adjusted for a hyd flat tappet cam) Heads surfaced true Machined for extra head bolts Final wash and assembly Primed and painted As you can see, these are far beyond your typical valve job. He has a fair amount of money in them not to mention what a set is worth without having been completely rebuilt. I don't have his final figure of what he wants yet but wanted to see if there was anyone interested in them. All of the parts and work done, you are talking a shop bill of at least $1000.00 so I am thinking he will want somewhere around $1200. Again, everything here is new and no expense was spared in building them. Contact me if you are interested, Nick Alfano Performance 4849-76 st.
