From: Don <don_nsx@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [Amc-list] Charity AMX and Chip Foose Come on Mark. I think the object of the exercise is to end up with an AMX worthy of admiration that will command a price that will benefit a charity of someone's choice. I am not privy to WHO that charity might be, but I'm willing to believe that it is a worthy one. Regardless of the way the show is presented, (the sham that the car has been stolen) and everything has to be done in 7 days, the result is what matters. If Chip Foose can take the Charity AMX and do his usual fantastic job, who cares? I think it would be great to see an AMC car done by him because of the great talent the Chip possesses. He can have my AMX any time he wants it. Don .. If approached I don't believe Chip would turn the Project down - as so much of the Restoration has already been addressed, however - the Taxes for the Labor and Parts used - billed at Retail - must be payed by someone and that would be whomever contracts with Chip. Average Taxes run above $10K for their usual builds - which is why you see the cars being 'Sponsored' by a close friend, relative or Movie Star chum. If the AMX were taken to Jackson after the Build - and only brought $10K - the car would have generated $0.00 towards the Charity . I say call Chip - have a discussion with his Business Mgt. - they'll fill you in on the exact requirements and if there are any another solution available. --- avast!
