Chris, You need to check the oil pressure with a hot engine (you need to drive it to get the oil temp up). You need to have at least 13 PSI at idle. If you don't have that, you'll need to pull the engine and replace at least the cam bearings (main and rod bearings may also be bad -- the valve stem seals breaking apart and plugging up the oil pickup tube usually causes this problem). If you have at least 13 PSI, you can try cleaning out the oil passage going up to the head. There are cleaning instructions at http://www.mattsoldcars.com/RestoreAmerican/boltmod.shtml (you may have come across this page already). I've been told this was a common problem, and I'm wondering if you have any advice. I've found a trick online that says to take out one of the head bolts and grind a section down on a lathe and re-insert it. This is supposed to allow more oil to pass at that point. I was also thinking about running an external line out and then back in at the top to a brass tube inside the head with several small holes.
