I just wanted to acknowledge your post, since I don't have all the answers you need. I can tell you that power brake vacuum must come from the intake manifold, somewhere below the carb. There should be a fitting which you can tee off of or a plug which can be removed to allow a hose fitting. I also have a 66 Rambler with manual drum brakes but I was able to rebuild my master cylinder with an NORS kit I got from an independent auto parts store.
