When I was in college I drove a '59 Mercedes Benz diesel with a 4 on the tree. I loved that car. Couldn't drive it up the hill to my dorm (not enough torque to make it up the hill in either first or reverse), so I left it on the main campus and took a bus. I'm liking the manual shift on the column - and my American has a lot more driveability than the old MB! I think it has just as much charm, too - only in a different way.
