I would think hanging it in the air would be fine, but if your worried a crossmember with a simple layout and soft rubber mount would be fairly easy to build. With the original four point mount in place you could actually sandwich plate the crossmember to the floor as all you doing is taking some tress off the tail of the trans for piece of mind. Say acouple of 4X6" plates with nuts welded on, laid on top of the floor under the front seats, if there are no frame rail sections in the early american to run to. You could either tack weld the plates themselves to the floor or a couple of rivets to keep them in place. For mounts you can get anyone of a half dozen cheap mounts that will bolt to the T5. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> > On Tue, 6 May 2008, d stohler wrote: > > > i have one question however. the t5 is aluminum case. > > it is built to have a cross member under it in most > > apps i beleive. with the 4 point mount like in my 62 > > classic, would i need to get the cross member i have > > fit under the trans?? i would worry about it with the > > adapter holding it all together. i know the t5 dont > > weigh much, but still. thats a lot of mass "hanging" > > out back of the bell with only 4 bolts. > > Ooh, good point. > > I assume at some point I will buy one of these adapters, but it won't be > until summer at the earliest. > > _______________________________________________ > Amc-list mailing list > Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx > http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
