I can understand that. I have not encountered that problem in my Gremlin. I seem to have plenty of ground clearance even with the Milodon deep pan. My 4.0L pan survived one trip down my road, it scraped twice. When I backed the car into the garage the pan snagged the lip going into the garage backwards and peeled open like a sardine can. End of pan. Big mess. I would not want a pan that was ANY deeper than a stock pan on any AMC.
