on this apr 19th holiday, 'we must all hang together, or surely we
will all hang separately'.  i agree that there is pressure to move
total support and protection way too far, but i wouldn't describe it
as uncontrolled and i certainly wouldn't call a system that plays
against personal liberty 'liberal', whatever those who espouse it say.
socialism as seen in the soviet union and china is one of the most
conservative, reactionary systems on the earth.

i also agree that news media aren't interested in telling the whole
story, only what grabs the most viewers.  you know why?  viewers
aren't their audience, advertisers are; viewers are the product they
sell to their audience.  i'm often reminded of twain's line, the most
pernicious form of lie is the half truth...

this isn't creeping socialism, this is creeping capitalist imperialism
with the titans of industry sleeping very closely with the political
movers and shakers.
