Re: [Amc-list] AMC heater core and housing

Assuming that the foam seals are the same on them as they are on 68's,
I'm in the process of getting those made up with Detroit Muscle
Technologies. They are doing a complete heater box set for Americans but
the foam around the heater core also fits Javelin and AMX. Since REM
makes the seal between the motor mounting plate and heater box and the
mounting plate to motor seal, I'm not having them make those. REM also
makes the heater core tube seal for cars with both 5/8" and 3/4" nipples
but 67 and older use two 5/8" nipples on the heater core (DMT is doing that)

As far as the seals go, here is what should be there:
* Each air door is covered with foam on one side and has a foam bump
strip on the other.
* If there is an extension tube to the defroster duct (American's have
this), there is a seal between it and the duct.
* The heater box to cowl seal is 1" thick uncompressed and 10 7/8" x 7
3/4" with rounded corners on the interior side.
* There are gaskets on the sides of the heater core so it doesn't move
side to side.
* There is a gasket between the front of the heater core and the
firewall (the heater core tubes go through it).
* There is a seal that goes over the heater core tubes.
* There is a seal between the blower motor and mounting plate.
* There are grommets over each of the blower motor mounting studs.
* There is a seal between the motor mounting plate and heater box.
* There may be gaskets between the heater box and firewall.
