Yeah, factory Jeep parts, but with a blown 4 cyl I'd still move to the 700 based trans.
Not so much for anything other then the low first gear to get it rolling and up on boost quick.
The AW4 does not have the torque multiplication and low gear of the 700 series trans.
You'll not get the AW4 to shift as hard as a built 700 either. Nor will you get the backing of the aftermarket the 700 has.
  Believe me I stay AMC when possible, but in this instance I'd move to the 700R4 or 4L60E.
