[Amc-list] AMX Paint

Does anyone know the correct paint for the interior steering column on a 70 AMX?? I have the entire column out (didn't want to but had lots of repairs) and before putting it back would like to repaint.? Would be ashame to replace column with new starting lock, bearings etc. and have paint all beat up.? Thanks.
