You're right about that abuse and neglect stuff. The funny part about people
justifying the abuse is when it comes to their comments about the quality of
an AMC, it's always "The damn thing let me down, it wouldn't start" or "It
broke just like the cheap AMC that it is."  Those same people never consider
that if they treated a shitty or a turd in a similar fashion it would have
crapped on them much sooner than the AMC did.
My experience with my Javelin has been that the out sourced parts on the
car are the ones that crapped on me.
It no longer has the GM made distributor. bushings wore out. it was shooting
spark at all the wrong times because of the looseness. I change oil every
2000 miles too.
The Ford starter has been replaced and rebuilt into obscurity. The solenoid
same thing, the master cylinder has been replaced at least twice. The borg
warner automatic is major crap, that's why it's out of there.
Am I correct???
