The only reason I can think of is that you could theoreticaly use a 4.0L flywheel. With it's forward location ring, maybe you could then use a Block plate to adapt to the late model bellhousing. Maybe, use the older "new" flywheel? Who knows? Anyway, the only reason I can think of is to mount up a late model trans to the early sixes. No reason this could not be worked out by someone with the time and resources. You'd not end up with a visualy correct swap as the starter would move to the passenger side. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4.7L, Quadratrc II " Chronic Pain Hurts" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " From: Frank Swygert <farna@xxxxxxx> > " > " > " The late model flywheel will bolt up to an early engine, but it's > " a bit larger in diameter.
