Joe, Yeah you're probably correct in your statements. It is kinda cool though, that Glad is getting almost 700 hp out of that cast crank. Heck this motor is probably already in pieces on the dyno floor. I hate to be negative about it, but then of course, when he does abuse the daylights out of it and it shucks it's noogies for him, all the nay sayers will be harping about that AMC "junk" again. No one but us ramblers will remember that the crank should have let loose long ago like a Ford or GM cast crank would have. Did AMC cast cranks from high nickel content iron like with the blocks?? Is that why the crank is taking 700 hp?? Sad part of it is this is the only publication that is really main stream that puts in any AMC stuff when it comes to performance. I guess some jeep publications probably do, I know Hemmings Muscle Machines does too, but isn't their stuff mostly original??
