The cam button for the early 4.0L is in the bolt. You can get cam button kits for other makes from Summitt and such. Would be easy enough to drill an original bolt and insert a button and spring as long as you can find the exact center of the bolt. I sent a 196 cam to Lunati in the early 90s. They reground it with 0.10" more lift and 20 degrees more duration. Yes, it made a noticeable difference! Not in take-off, but in mid-range power where it really counted the most. About 20 more hp 45-75 mph. They can regrind anything, just need to know what you're looking for. I told them "a little peppier engine". They made a great choice! ------------------- Date: Sat, 17 Nov 2007 15:30:07 -0500 From: Brien Tourville <hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> From: d stohler <das24rules@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [Amc-list] lack of power and backfire i did not notice a lot of cam movement when i replaces the timing stuff.
