AMC had them back to the late 50s at least. Usually a dealer installed item (would be in the parts book or accessory catalog, but is not in the TSM) or on the top of the line cars from the factory. I suspect it could be ordered from the factory on any car, but still may be dealer installed. Some of the early accessory items were done that way as it was cheaper than having it installed on a production line -- just ship the car with the tissue box/windshield washer/etc. in the trunk! My 63 American 440 sedan and even my 61 Deluxe wagon had the factory type. The hood squirter is a little sort of triangular piece with four fixed holes, two for each side, a high and a low. Tom, it goes in the hood just in front of the hood brace, but I don't recall exactly how far. I don;t know if one of the parts cars I have has one or not, will go look if no one else has the info. ------------------- Date: Fri, 02 Nov 2007 20:02:11 -0700 From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> -- John K Gallagher <johnnyjavelin@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Americans have squirters? ... > > I don't remember seeing squirters in any of my old Nash and Rambler shop > > manuals. > > > > Sorry I got nothing constuctive. > Well that may BE constructive -- it never occurred to me they didn't.
