The twin stick knobs on my American were shot, all stripped out. I've been unable to find a replacement for the one with the pushbutton. But MSC Direct (www.mscdirect.com) has "phenolic ball knobs" that work. One just screws on to the 5/8-18 thread (#00583740, $1.53 each) but is 2" diameter. The original is 1.5". They have 1.5" balls, but not with 5/8-18 thread. You could bore one out and tap it yourself, the tap will cost more than the balls! The catalog page URL is below. They have red ones too! I made one of the 2" jobs into the "Twin Stick" ball with the pushbutton, it took about 20 minutes. I located the top center of the ball, drilled a 1/8" pilot hole down into the tapped cavity. Chucked up a big (1") drill bit and used the 118 degree tip to make the depression (no pic here, but if you have Twin Stick you know what I mean; pics in the TSM). Then I bored it out for the button itself, I think it was letter U drill. This leaves too much meat for the button to protrude; so I drilled some plastic out of the bottom of the tapped cavity with a 5/8" bit til it "looked right" poking through the top. Drill, test, drill, test... OK, but with a 2" ball the button doesn't reach the switch mechanism. I simply cut a short length of rigid plastic to the length to make up the difference. I also bought balls of other sizes to replace all the knobs in the car with!
