Depending on what you install, you may indeed not need one. I install the brakes and seat them in. Once I'm sure everything is sound I take it out to a deserted area and start doing some hard stops. Work up to panic stops. If you need the valve, you'll know it. Then I would install one andreduce rear pressure till you get a balance. I try to get either a perfect match or rear lock up slightly before fronts. I must admit i've never added the valve to my American. It locks the rear a little early. You can also change the rear brake action by changing wheel cylinders. If you can get the proper sizes it is actually less money then buying a valve and plumbing it in, but may take some fiddlign around. Tom J. Has some info on what the different sizes of wheel cylinders do to brake actioin. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: feltonjk@xxxxxxx > I am new to the list so forgive me if this subject has been addressed already.? > I am converting a 70 AMX from drum all the way around to front disc.?
