I hate to be a nay sayer but.... I've got a bunch of UHMWPE around here, I use it to to make woodworking jigs that need to slide. It's dense, and heavy, and slippery but it sure isn't hard. You can cut it with a sharp knife. The stuff I have wouldn't clink to save it's life, so it sure isn't what you've got....
