There was someone years back who offered to build clutch rods for me. He said he worked in the industry and if I made up models or cad drawings he could bend them up and form the ends etc; That's probably been a good 7 years or so ago and I don't have any means of figuring out who he was. Strut rods would be essentialy the same, just larger and threaded. If we could get that guy or his equal it would be very easy to spec out a strut rod. Your talking an identical match to the original except the threaded end not beign tapered and perhaps leaving it an inch or so longer to allow one to dial in more positive caster.
  A more industrious fix would be a bracket for a heim joint on the control arm, box the arm to stop flex, then the threaded rod at the rear to allow a new style rubber trut bushing to keep harshness down.
