The other thing is if concerned with low charge below 2000 rpm, put in the biggest battery you can fit! It will get you thru the low speed traffic, besides, what's in the car to kill a battery? Unless you add tech toys to draw on the system, I doubt you'll ever kill it! As far as batteries go I regularly fudge up to a bigger battery. I usually take some measurements and then find the largest [as in amp hour/cranking amps] battery I can get that fits. Generally the cost increase is minimal. The American I fitted with a spiral cell as it is trunk mounted. It was $125 about 7 years ago now, and it is a marvelous little bugger, doesn't go dead or corrode. I will be replacing it with another one when it fails... -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: Peter Marano <PMarano@xxxxxxxxx> > > I think your assumption is incorrect, I have limited experience with > generators, but I have never seen one 'drop dead'.
