I checked the Tremec website (http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/products/T-5.asp) to see what information they had, and I found a T5 service manual. Here's what it says about lubricants. Anyone have a mid-80's owner's manual? I'd be curious what it says. Todd 2-4. APPROVED LUBRICANT. Most T5 transmission models use Dexron II automatic transmission fluid. Refer the vehicle owner’s manual or service manual for lubricant specifications. CAUTION Do not mix different bands or types of transmission lubricant. DO NOT USE GEAR OIL IN THE T5 TRANSMISSION SINCE THIS MAY DAMAGE THE BLOCKING RING MATERIAL. ----- Original Message ----- From: Wrambler242@xxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tuesday, September 25, 2007 10:17 am Subject: [Amc-list] T lube > That's probably why mine leaks some.
