But the problem is that the WHEEL strikes the EDGE of the drum, before it lays flat on the bolt pattern face. The issue is that the 9x2 and 10x2.5 drums are FLAT across the front, the 9x2.5 drums -- only -- are concave, eg. the edge of the workin part of the drum sticks out past the bolt pattern matin surface. Look at any 9x2.5 car (Gremlin, etc) and you'll see. Go to www.rockauto.com, click the red button; click PART NUMBER SEARCH tab. Enter "2501"; that's the 9x2 drum. Look at the wheel mating surface. Enter "2502", that's the 9x2.5 drum. Look and you'll see the concavity. There are two kinds of AMC wheels, more or less; narrow rim/small center hole, Americans only. Everything else, larger center hole, fits all models. I'm learning a lot of useless trivia abou drum brakes! > 2. Test fit one of your old Hornet cores. Good point -- I'll do that! _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
