Re: [Amc-list] lettered tires

Welcome back!
I'm going to be living thru the deeds of others here for a while yet I figure so send lots of details!
I had an offer to work as I.A.T.S.E. crew chief for "The Bad Boys of Rock" concert here on Sunday. I figured I would not have ot do any labor so i took it. Well, one weekend shot to hell later I regret that decision! No labor involved other then being on my feet for hours on end and people whining and complaining and begging for different things.
My back has now joined in the complaint department. The pain clinic is being a pain. I missed work yesterday hoping things would be better today. No dice, still miserable, The good news is something hurts worse then my shoulder for a change! Bad news is, I don't know when or if I will ever see an end to this and i'm getting real depressed! Joy...
Need to find someone to put the dynomax exhaust stuff of on the Cherokee. It's looking like it will be a good idea to just pay someone to do it. The last thing I want to do is agravate this some more. How in the hell I'm going to finish off some of the stuff I wanted to do is up in the air, big time.
  Crap...

Lettered tires, hmmm, Don't htink there are many made in those sizes anymore. there is alway hand lettering them, but most I've seen done look pretty fake with rough edges on the lettering. Avoid the temptation to buy some old takeoffs! I have a set of 14" Daytonas on the conv. They looked like new till one of them went flat from a cracked valve stem. The sidewalls promptly split to the cords, no way they woud have been even remotely safe to run!
Unless its for a trailered show car and points don't even think about using old tires! Your cars aren't show queens! No offens intended, I know you want to drive it!

For the Rally look, you need to find a dual carb intake for that 195.6! don't forget to split the exhaust, well maybe not for a rally car! Besides, the 195.6 would be a fine rally car engine. They ran what they had!
