Re: [Amc-list] scrambler

A: That would be an NP219 (New Process's version of the Quadratrac) used '80 to early '83 only. It has 4hi, 4hi lock neutral and 4 low (can't recall if it has both locked and unlocked in low range, but it lists an E drive like the BW 1339 used.) You can bolt a 23 spline NV242 directly to a Jeep 4x4 727 (not sure how much spline engagement there, but it will bolt up) or you can bolt an AW4 to NP219, 228, 229, 119, 128 or 129 (but you will need a spacer kit like the one I got from http://partsmike.com ) I had to move my trans mount back @4" (the 4x4 AW4 is @3.5" longer than the 727 plus the spacer) where I already have a couple holes in my '83 J10.

just found: shellvalley.com in platte ctr, ne...

i was going to suggest a galvanized heavy frame from
montanajeepframes.com, but they seem to be gone. i don't think
matkins has anything comparable.

i'd suggest a fulltime 4wd setup like an '80s np218 series or
'90s
nv242 and detroit truetracs f&r. maybe a late fulltime t/c?
nv245?
since you [she] don't need a low range, a np118 series from an
eagle
or a nv140 would be possible too.
