The last AMC I owned was 30 years ago. I want some advice from people who know more about these cars than I do. I have a 1972 Javelin, all the original papers, dealership materials, and title. A basic SST, 304 engine with air. A one owner car until I obtained it. How many original Javelins' do you see around AMC car gatherings? Do I keep it as is or muscle it up? Either way, I will be restoring for me, and not to resell. I am open to putting more $ into it than I could get out of it. My kids can deal with that when I've left this world. I'm Just want some objective advice. David Hi Dave - Find the Factory functional Cowl Induction Hood - with the C.I. air cleaner assembly - get the AMX interior door panel trim - the AMX Factory gauge cluster - AMX trunk lid 'spoiler' and find a nice stock 401 / 727 trans combo - you're investment will be rewarded by a much nicer ride and climb in resale value. You can surf the AMC sites - place Ads in the AMO and the various State AMC clubs along with a FREE Ad on www.ep.com - get *Nice* pieces so take your time. 401's are out there - you'll pay Premium for a stock running engine - and it'll need to be shipped as all the ones I found were Mid West areas. Do Not buy a bored out +.030 engine - get a stock motor. Someone just had the service block AMC thick bore 360 engine in their parts stash - you might want to bid on that - I would. If you run across a set of 1970 'MACHINE' wheels - grab them. Get this together and you're in the 'Rare' bubble AMX Ownership standing. -- Brien NEW YORK eagle registry #501 eagle kammback registry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
