Charles, there's only about a 50 pound difference between the late model (67+) AMC V-8s and sixes. 1981 and later sixes weigh about 40 pounds less than earlier models (~90 pound difference). They have lighter cranks and blocks, as well as aluminum intakes (vs. cast iron) and thinner casting exhaust manifolds. ------------ Date: Sun, 19 Aug 2007 07:03:35 +0000 From: "Charles Seel" <listlesssleeper@xxxxxxxxxxx> what is the weight difference between the 258 I6, and the AMC V8s? I read 500-540 on a few websites; but I wanted to be sure. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.amc-list.com/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
