Re: [Amc-list] Javelin Clutch/Brake Assembly Interchange?

APD was where I got my 69 American stuff.
I could be wrong on the interchange for AMX/Javelins they may well break there in the middle.
Long story.
I was shopping for stick shift pedals for my American, foudn 68 Jav stuff for $30. Cheap enough as it was complete and the guy was runnign adds in the amc section of whatever adds that linked to AMX-files. I emailed back and forth to him and he said he didn't know about Americans but that he had in fact changed pedals and linkage form differnet year Javelins and AMX's. He said it worked as long as you stay with the same entire setup. Someone else at the time said they had also done this.
I bought the stuff from him and it of course did not work, So I sold it to someone else and as near as I knwo it worked for the buyer. I don't know either who I bought it from, Just that he was in Texas and it wasn't eddie or anyone else familiar. I almost rememebr who I sold it to, I should know, but, well I might of hit my head too hard last year as information that was there is sometimes a little tricky to find. :[
As far as pedals and their fulcrums. I have never seen more then one size in all the years AMC made them.
All of them fit the same diameter. Pedal length changes, clutch, perhaps even brake linkage changes all over the place. You can get the pedal in the pivot. I've tried a few different ones over the years.
I've seen them out of the cars and compared them, they fit.
