Brian, The pedal/linkage assemblies are definitely different. Go to American Parts Depot: http://www.americanpartsdepot.com/ClutchIllustrations2.htm and view the illustrations from the TSMs. I believe you may be able to make them work but I was unwilling to try that for my swap. I once had an assembly from the 68-69 car in my possession. I returned it to the seller because it was supposed to be the 70 to 74 version which it was not. The pedal arms are bent differently and, unfortunately I never checked to determine if the bushings and shafts are the same diameters, but I have a hunch they may be. There may be other differences with the bracket mounting and master cylinder mounting. I currently have an assembly from a 71 or 72 Javelin in my 70 Javelin. All I had to do was exchange the shafts of the pedals and the bushings in and out of my existing pedal/master cylinder/steering column bracket to exchange my automatic pedal for the manual pedals. I currently have an assembly from a 74 Javelin (everything under the dash including the pedal/master cylinder/steering column bracket) and the push rod. The pedals and bracket are the same as my 70 Javelin, but I think the rods that stabilize the steering column end of the bracket are different. For some reason AMC did not exactly duplicate all the pieces from 70 to 74, there are differences but I think they still exchange without too much trouble 70 to 74. I am swapping a '71 AMX T-10 into a '69 Javelin SST with an automatic. Will the clutch/brake pedal assembly from the '71 fit into the '69? If not does anyone have one they want to swap? Thanks.
