Tewells in Uniontown was such a dealer. He would put the V-8's in the larger cars though. But he never ordered any Americans with the 8's. He didn't do any Hornets, Gremlins, Spirits either. He didn't see the point, He was not a performance car guy. The only small cars we saw with 8's were sold at other dealers. Or specifically ordered by a customer. He put a lot sixes in the big cars too. Up till smog stuff came online the sixes pulled those cars around pretty darned good. Someone over at "theamcforum" needs the dirvers door off of that car! -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > That was probably a dealer ordered car by a little > country dealer who was scared of them V8 Ramblers. > Remember, the 1966 model year had been brutal, the > second generation V8s had not been out that long and > the Javelin/AMX were still just gleams in in Dick > Teague's eye. > > Joe Fulton > Salinas, CA > --- Archimedes <Freedom@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > > I don't get it. > > > > Someone ordered a two-door hardtop, with a 6 > > cylinder.
