i can't imagine a small outfit like jag doing that even if they were
english.  it just makes far more sense to use the same tranny across
the board with the same engine, and in the v12 xjs it was the bw m12
until '78 or so, then the th400.

did they ever switch to a jag-pattern th400?  afaik the 4L80e is, but
maybe the th400 never was.
