Bill Snip I'm starting to restore the underside of my '68 AMX and wondering what colors various items (rear end, suspension, etc) were from the factory. Does anyone like Eastwood have the correct colors? Snip I have some documentation that alludes to the running gear such as the rear axle, suspension and drive shaft would be a semi-gloss black, the transmission should be unpainted and the exhaust system for 1968 could be optional ceramic other wise un-rusted metal for optimum if any exhaust system can be un-rusted and still be functional. Shock absorbers can be red, black or white. The underbody would be body color with undercoating if any, would be black. Snip Is there a source for this type of info? Snip Unfortunately in all of the years that I have been in the hobby I have not seen nor am I aware of any universally accepted publicly available publications that chronicle any of this information. The bad part of this is that there is no guidelines to measure how well you have done a restoration that has any merit at all, the good part of this, there is absolutely no way to measure that you have done it wrong. Unless of course you painted everything purple and I believe that would not be too well accepted. As far as who is carrying "correct" colors, semi-gloss black is what you are looking for generically and I use Rust-Oleum, John. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
