It's dirt simple to make a controller to place the trans in 1st or second and get it to hold. It's totally electronic. A couple of switches will do the trick. Frank uses a rotary in his with no TCU. You might want to use some diodes to keep from backfeeding the tcu. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " From: Brien Tourville <hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxx> > " > " From: adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Sandwich Maker) > " > " " From: Brien Tourville <hh7x@xxxxxxxxxxx> > " " > " " > " " > " " > " " > " " Install a 2wd Aisin Warner 4speed Automatic from an '88-'89 Cherokee > " " that uses the 'stand alone' TCM - transmission control module. > " > " stand alone tcm were used up to '95. the '96-up obdII ecm > " incorporated tcm control; the tranny itself was the same. > " ________________________________________________________________________ > " Andrew Hay the genius nature > " > " > " > " > " ===.=== > " > " > " Thanks Andrew ! > " > " I was being 'conservative' on my years estimates - > " am suprised the 'stand alone TCM' ran up thru 1995 ! > > actually we may both be wrong! just saw this: > > ' To: <XJOG@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > ' From: "Chris Lawson" > ' Date: Fri, 22 Jun 2007 09:30:54 -0700 > ' Subject: RE: [XJOG] Re: Brand new AW4 trans control module for sale > ' > ' > ' > ' The AW4 was never integrated into the ECM/PCM.
