[Amc-list] m8 transmission

update on the trans... it will shift thru all forward
gears. can put in drive, it shifts thru all gears
fine. can also shift thru all gears manually just
fine. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. i have lifted all 4 corners up
on jackstands. when i put the car in neutral, it is in
1st gear. when i put it in reverse, it locks tight.
when i put it in park, if it starts spining before the
park hook grabs, it just goes off in 1st, have to hold
onto the brake to get the park hook to grab. 

i dropped the pan, the little clip holding the filter
on was off. both the filter and clip were in the
bottom of the pan. i see nothing else abnormal. im not
positive what im looking at in an automatic trans
however. manuals, im good with. autos, not so much. 

i am getting REALLY frusterated with this car. does
anyone have parts they could supply me with if i have
something messed up? i need to find out what i can
check out without pulling it out of the car. 


GRRRRR why do people let cars rot like this??? headaches...
