Steve wrote- Snip Hmmm, that's interesting. I didn't think about approaching them for our Jav. Because of this, I didn't even think of approaching them with a 36-year-old V8 coupe. I figured they'd look at me like I was from the moon. Snip Steve, Let's make sure we are both on the same page here. You are NOT approaching your company to insure your 36-year-old V8 Coupe with collision coverage. You are asking if they provide a "Collector Car" Policy. That is a whole 'nuther subject. My company will insure my 1980 fuel injected Spirit for daily driving. They will give me collision coverage based upon a mutually agreeable price which in the case of my 1980 Spirit is $16,000. It will only cost me about $6000.00 a year. I need that car as a daily driver. However at $6000.00 a year after three years I would have spent enough money on insurance to build another one. Not a good deal. However if I want to insure my 1980 Fuel Injected Spirit as a COLLECTOR CAR, with the driving restriction as applied to collector cars I can insure the car for about $300.00 a year which is about what it costs me for my 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin and the 1980 AMX. Now each insurance company will have it's own set of rules and guide lines. It is up to you to understand what you are asking for and what you will get. The point is, you should be asking if they offer a collector car policy and if they do what are the guide lines and the costs involved. Remember the basic rule of thumb is easy to follow. In general the more restrictions there are to usage and parking, the cheaper the insurance is. John -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
