I just bought a lighter assembly at Advance for the same reason. It has a lug for the ground, yours should have one on the exterior shell too or long ago I remember seeing some with a ring/lug that sits between the retaining ring/exterior housing. If all else fails you can solder or rivet a spade to the exterior housing. The lighter assembly I bought was cheap, less than $4. I only want it to power up things like my garage door opener that I added an accesory plug to so I could stop buying batteries, that and some scanners need external power. For years I just had a cover on the lighter hole. I quit smoking 20 years ago in July! No way I'll ever go back. -- Mark Price Morgantown, WV 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 " I was different before people dared to be different" -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: JOE FULTON <piper_pa20@xxxxxxxxxxx> > I don't smoke but want the accessory power socket.
