[Amc-list] Thrift-O-Matic!

I meant to look up the lubrication system for the OHV 195.6 but
stumbled into the L-head section by mistake. Under Oil Pump it
talks about the Thrift-O-Matic, which is clearly the E-stick
system from the description.

I'd never heard that name before. Google shows no hits (for
what that's worth). Has anyone ever heard this phrase before?

This was in the '62 American TSM. I don't have a '63.

It's a pretty hilarious name, if you ask me. "To cheap to spring
for the auto trans? Settle for the Thrift-O-Matic!"
