IIRC someone one makes adpate rplates that may work. I saw it listed on a website, Flaming river or Borgeson etc; They listed one for an earl 60's Chevy, You need to gather the box numbers to sort all that out. I have a spare plate here, you never know when you might need one! Well I didn't look at it with an eye to adapting... the old box is really small, it has a triangular pattern, but it's a different triangle and rotated about 90. Like everyone says, anything's possible :-) I used one of those spacers to "transport" the hole pattern from the old '63 steerin box to the 73 parts car. They are handy to have around. > > -- > Mark Price > Morgantown, WV > 1969 AMC Rambler, 4.0L, EFI, T-5 > > -------------- Original message ---------------------- > From: Tom Jennings <tomj@xxxxxxx> >> On Sat, 31 Mar 2007, Sandwich Maker wrote: >> >>> and it should be easy to retrofit saginaw integral ps - didn't the '65 >>> or '66 have it? the ps gear would mount with a sill plate adapter >>> anyways, and probably take the existing pitman arm. >> >> Just checked; the 63-65 steering box is utterly incompatible >> with the 70-up box.
