Howell and Turbo city both make or made TBI kits based on GM TBI.
We had a list member a few years back with GM TBI on an Eagle, once he got past a problem which I can't remember waht it was no he was very happy with it IIRC.

 You know way to much about electronis to have any real problems figuring out efi should you choose to! OBD I is actually really simple in design, can be diagnosed and fixed without fancy testers. The testers are helpfull, but not needed. Everything can be checked with a volt-ohmeter. 
   I was thinking as I cleaned the workbench up today that I wish I had just built my multiport harness as I had the connectors for the ecu and all sensors. It would have made a way cleaner install. 
  Not that it looks bad under there as-is!
