John Mahoney's Trivia question:
What was the first AMC car to go into production -without- a hand-built
prototype? What was the month and year it then was covered in AMC ink?
-----------
Darn! You got me John, but I'm going to step up like John Elle did and
hazard a guess -- 78 Concord? Even a prototype wouldn't have really been
hand built, "hand trimmed" or "hand modified" maybe, but the shell was
really already "built", even though it was called "Hornet" instead. I
can't recall exact month/year it was unveiled, but would have been
sometime in 77, I assume.
I've got a very good hunch that this is most likely way off track --
your pieces of trivia are usually very deep in AMC history, deeper than
most of us know (like the Hisso/Hudson connection), but I gave it a
shot!
