Re: [Amc-list] 304 prices

Those engine prices sound like they are in the ball
park. You can get a motor a little cheaper from the
picknPull type yards here in CA, but for the base
price of around $140 plus tax, the motor will come
with no accessories, just the bare long block.

I have a complete 304 I have been advertising for
$150. I sold a bare long block 304 out of my 77
Hornet AMX for $50 last week. Just needed to move it
and a young hobbyist from Oakland with a 304 Javelin
bought it to tinker with he said.

The problem with a $400 junkyard motor which probably
comes with a warranty as I see it is this. If the
motor turns out to be bad, you have to expend the
additional labor to remove it and return it to the
yard. Make sure that if it comes with a warranty,
that the yard will give you your money back and not
limit the warranty to exchanging the motor for another
unknown quantity.
